In the sickness, and the pain,
Sometimes our faith begins to wane.
We ask God why it has to be.
Why not someone other than me?
Who would you have to take your place?
The tears you cry on what other face?
Who would you want to pay your debt?
Why is your faith so little yet?
Nobody said, ”You won’t have pain.”
Good and evil have felt my rain.
It matters not, what things may be,
If faith is strong enough in Me.
A little faith and you will see
That you can lay your pain on Me;
But when it’s there, then let it be,
And let your faith grow strong in Me.
Someday, when pain and aches are past,
And breath is gone, we’ll rest at last.
We’ll understand why we had pain,
And see the flowers, grown in rain.
When we cast off this mortal frame,
We’ll still have life, but not the same.
Then we will know the reasons why
We were given our tears to cry.
We have a time to laugh and cry,
A time to live, and one to die.
It’s all a part of His good plan
For us, someday, to understand.
