Did I Tell You Lord
Did I tell you Lord about a man,
I decided that I would meet.
He truly was remarkable,
And he swept me off my feet.

His words they come in poetry,
So beautiful, they flow.
I wonder my dear Lord,
Did you already know?

I woke today; he’s on my mind,
And these words were in my head.
A Poet I am not my Lord,
But they brought me from my bed.

I know I come to you so much,
You’ve never let me down.
You’ve given me a smile so bright,
Replaced that darned ole’ frown.

I know my heart is fragile,
And a shield I keep around.
With you at my side dear Lord,
I’ll walk on solid ground.

Did I tell you Lord about this man,
Who stole my heart that day.
I guess I’ll keep him around awhile,
To romp and laugh and play.
