I Just Thought You'd Like To Know

I got your letter just today.

It said you'd take your love away.

The thing that tore me all apart

was when you wanted back your heart.

Sometimes our thoughts can be untrue,

like when you thought I don't love you.

Take your love if you have to go,

but I just thought you'd like to know…

You're leaving the love meant for you,

breaking a heart that has been true.

The broken dreams that now can't be

are still alive inside of me.

Someday, perhaps, we'll wonder why

we ever let such good love die.

It seems that love must sometimes go,

but I just thought you'd like to know…

Just because we're getting older,

doesn't mean that love is colder.

The flame of love still burns inside,

And won't go out until I've died.

I know there's things that you can't see,

And it's the very same with me.

I love you more than I can show,

and I just thought you'd like to know…
