If You Knew

Would it make a difference
If you only knew?
Your days were getting fewer
The faster you grew.



If on the day of your birth
The Lord came and said,
You will have thirty years
And then you will be dead....



Would you say, "I love you"
Each and every day?
Would you take the time
To bow your head and pray?



Would you say a "Thank You"
For the smallest things?
Would you thank the Lord
For what the sunshine brings?



Would you go the extra mile
For the sick and lonely?
Would you smile and take the hand
Of your One and Only?



Would you say a kind word
Instead of poking fun?
Would you face the music
Or drop your head and run?



Would you say, "I'm proud of you
In everything you do?"
Would it make a difference
If you only knew?
