SHOW ME THE POWER
I asked God to show me His power.
I turned..., I looked..., I saw a flower;
nothing more..., no sign of power.
A storm is power - I'll ask again!
Then came only a gentle rain.
What is this? Where is the power?
Asking for storms, I got a shower.
So downhearted, I wanted to die;
Then I thought, I wonder why
God won't listen to such as I?
I'm a good man, though somewhat vain
I wanted storms, but you sent rain.
I wanted to see your mighty power;
You let me see only a flower...
A voice within me said,..Who are you?
Do you tell God what He should do?
You want to know if God is true.
Okay, Mister, you make some rain!
Find someone hurting and heal his pain.
You want to know mighty power?
Grow for me just one small flower.
There may be others just like me,
who are so vain they cannot see
the mighty forest for the tree.
With opened eyes I looked again
and saw God's power in the rain.
He's in the rainbow, sunset and dawn,
the heart of a child or spotted fawn.
There are plenty of signs to see.
Where there's creation, there is He.
He creates life and makes it free!
That power belongs to God above
and best of all, His power to love.
Blinded by pride, I never could see
How much, my God you're doing for me.
