Unknown

I know some things no one should know.
I've been places we should not go...
...stark places of desolation,
created in every nation.

Fueled by growing greed and lust,
Not ONE was there whom I could trust!
Love and mercy were there unknown,
And ev'ry one is on his own.

In the places where God's not known
I raised the crops I had sown -
The grapes of wrath and destruction,
...planted by Satan's instruction.

As I grew weaker, cold and pale
God granted that my crop would fail.
In His mercy, God rescued me,
...opened my eyes so I could see.

The Lord allows us to be free.
The paths I chose were up to me.
I wanted to know and to see
The pleasures the world held for ME.

I learned the pain that pleasure brings,
when all we want are worldly things.
I know it makes creation groan
When God's pure love remains unknown.
