Angels, they say, are creatures of love.
They visit the earth, but live above.
I don’t know if an angel can fly,
but I know that angels never die.
I’m told that angels can come and go,
and we may meet them … and never know.
We are told that angels celebrate
when each lost sheep returns through the Gate.
Surely, the angels must ALL have cried
on that awful day, when Jesus died.
The jubilation when He arose
is something that only heaven knows.
No wonder they live in constant praise,
for they know God through all their days.
I believe, sometimes, they also cry,
when angels see love… and watch it die.
Angels, you see, are creatures of love,
Who lead God’s children to homes above.
When time has come for the lost to die,
I believe it’s then that angels cry.
